About Mayari

I’m Sara, a mom of a toddler boy and currently pregnant with my second. I’m in my 40s, living in Switzerland, and slowly trying to build a life that feels good from the inside out.

I started Mayari because I kept finding myself down rabbit holes, researching how to be healthy and what’s actually in the food we eat, the products we put on our skin, the choices we make without thinking twice. At some point it made sense to just write it all down and share it.

This isn’t a perfect wellness journey, but I try to make better choices whenever I can for my family, my home, and the world my kids are growing up in. And yes, also for myself, because growing old healthy and fit matters to me just as much. Some days that looks like a wholesome home cooked meal. Other days it’s googling whether oat milk is actually healthy at 11pm.

Food & Fitness

What we eat and how we move are connected for me. I go to the gym regularly and I care about fuelling my body well, not in a restrictive or obsessive way, but in a way that makes me feel good.

I do my best to cook and eat clean, but I am still very much guilty of the occasional fast food burger, donut, or handful of candy. You will find recipes I have hunted down across the internet and tested with or without my own tweaks, dishes passed down from my mom, and food I grew up eating. All built around real ingredients, alongside thoughts on staying strong and active through pregnancy and into your 40s.

Clean Living

The more I learned about what goes into everyday products, the harder it became to ignore. Cleaning sprays, skincare, food packaging, cookware, it adds up faster than you think. I am not zero waste and I am not perfect, but I am trying to paying attention.
